The Half Life of Mason Lake walked into the office today, both arms raised above its head and exclaimed, "I told you I'd be back! I'm on the comeback trail, baby!" You see, The Half Life of Mason Lake was accepted into the Twin Cities Underground Film Festival, its second official festival selection.

Dimension, sipping rye whiskey in a smoking jacket, responded cooly from its spot in front of the fire, "I hope your elation won't be tempered by the fact that your second is my ninth."

Confusion followed, until we all realized that both of our films were official selections for the same festival, a first-time occurrence for us and something we're very excited about.

All details have been posted on the festival page.

Perhaps our best news yet:  Dimension has been picked up for domestic and international distribution by Cinequest. Possibly the premiere distributor for independent film, they’re going to be providing the film with the legs it needs to reach your living room and hopefully many others. The deal includes both traditional and digital distribution, and we’re thrilled to be involved with a company taking the fullest advantage of delivery methods at the forefront of technology.

Our tentative release date is Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Being early in the process as we are, that date is subject to change. We were just dying to say ‘release date.’ Sounds great, doesn’t it?

What this means to you is that upon release, you’ll be able to add Dimension to your Netflix queue, pick it up at your local Blockbuster, and download it in HD from multiple sources. The film will also be available for purchase through multiple vendors, and you’ll have the details as soon as we do.

Another resounding thank you to Cinequest. Their belief in Dimension is giving it the shot at success that it truly deserves.

Dimension continues its reign as undisputed champion of Rusted Rhino films, having been selected to participate in not one, but two more festivals, the Napa Sonoma Wine Country Film Festival and the Ybor Festival of the Moving Image. Details can be found on the new festivals page.

The Half Life of Mason Lake lies bloodied and beaten in the corner, swearing revenge and whispering, 'Don't count me out. I'll get you yet.'

We're honored to be included in these two fine festivals, and, as always, invite you all to head out and support the film.
