Dimension, Rusted Rhino's first feature-length film, was writen, directed, and produced by Matthew Scott Harris. With a crew of four and a cast of more than seventy actors, Dimension was filmed over 33 days in June and July of 2005 with a production budget of $77,000 (well below the pre-production estimate of $130,000).
Dimension tells the story of the inhabitants of a Chicago neighborhood who are given the opportunity to change their lives in one small way, but with one large limitation: They can only change three inches about themselves.
The choices they make range from amusing to heartbreaking, from trifle to profound. Dimension explores the ways that the semmingly smallest of decisions can affect the universe.
Dimension has been accepted into eleven film festivals and is being released nationally and internationally by Cinequest Distribution in both traditional and cutting-edge, high definition formats.
The official Dimension website is now live and can be accessed by clicking the DVD case above.
The Half Life of Mason Lake completed principal photography on May 18, 2006 after 18 days of filming.
The story focuses on the aftereffects of an accident that leaves the title character with a severe brain injury. It examines how well we handle tragedy and how well we truly know the people we love. The story not only travels the distance between better and worse, but it asks the question - if the one we love changes, is it acceptable for our feelings and actions for and towards them to do the same?
The Half Life of Mason Lake is the true epitome of independent film. Carried by a stellar cast of undiscovered actors and carried off by a crew of four, it reaches deep emotionally and never relies on conventional tactics to drive its point home.
We are still seeking distribution for The Half Life of Mason Lake, which has been accepted into four film festivals. Screeners can be obtained by clicking the contact link at the bottom of the page, and the trailer can be viewed at the official website, accessible by clicking on the DVD case above.
